About Us

Our Mission is to help make boating on the Thames more accessible, and our goals are to help get more people enjoying the water in a safe and fun way.

Boat Rental Thames is now owned by Matt and Kelly Couling, who are helped by a fantastic small team of enthusiastic people who love boats and being by the river.

Matt and Kelly have been involved in the service industry for over ten years and have specialised in outdoor adventure both on dry land and on the water. Matt is an ex Royal Naval officer with a background in flying Lynx helicopters and is a qualified commercial aircraft pilot. Kelly is a school teacher and brings her experience in the field to the school children’s activities carried out by their outdoor company operations.

Matt and Kelly are also busy parents and own and run Henley Canoe Hire. They have built up extensive experience in managing adults and children through their previous businesses involving DofE expeditions, along with residential and non-residential outdoor adventures.

There’s something magical about being on the River Thames, England’s greatest river. No day or experience is ever the same.
